Freescale Products Overview

Freescale based Core Modules comprise the MPC5200 family of industrial and wide temperataure range processors intended for harsh industrial environments or general purpuse Linux based control applications.

As second family member is the new i.MX based family of i.MX31 based Core Modules which combines high performance and very low power consumption including all interfaces required for mobile and multimedia applications.

The key distinction to Blackfin based Core Modules is the availability of a Memory Management Unit (MMU) hence standard Linux can run on it as well as the availability of a Floating Point Unit (FPU).

Core Modules

Bluetechnix currently supports two types of Core Modules.
The first is based on the MPC5200B processor integrating a 400 MHz MPC603e core with an integrated double precision Floating Point Unit (FPU) that is qualified at -40oC to +85oC.
The second is based on the i.MX31 family of multimedia application processors integrating an ARM1136JF-S™ core running at speeds of 532 MHz, and optimized for minimal power consumption.
